The Journey of a thousand miles must begin with a single stepLAO-TZU
LAO-TZU’s words ring true for me now more than ever, I am a stay-at-home mom, who has tried to establish herself as a work-from-home mom. Tried-failed, tried-again-succeeded, tried-some-more-failed-again…….succeeded-again……….you know where I’m going with this right?
Let’s begin at the beginning. In 2008 after completing my education in Software Engineering I landed a great job (exaggeration much!). After 4 years of being an excellent engineer (more like moderate), I decided to call it quits and move to academics. Apparently, working with computers all day long (overlooking the 2 hr long coffee breaks in between) was not quite fulfilling.
The move was made, I was happy, at long last I felt fulfilled. I was basking in the glory of the respect and admiration that came with being a Professor. Yet, something was amiss. The time I used to spend with my students was rewarding, I loved the exchange of ideas, I loved being able to impart knowledge, I loved clearing their doubts but most of all I loved helping them with the challenges they faced in their personal lives. Don’t get me wrong I am not talking about the personal-personal stuff (their love troubles were beyond the scope of my fortitude).
I saw many of my students struggling with issues like self-doubt, lack of confidence, poor communication skills and the like. So I decided to start helping them in this way, through a channel of communication that is open for all. Anyone can talk to me and perhaps, the way I was helpful to my students I’ll be able to help some of you.
I had quit my job as a professor in the year 2014 and after that, I got involved in a number of projects (really fulfilling ones too!). But my motive of helping others through my blog took a backseat in my quest for making money through writing. I intend to change that, I want to go back to my original motive. Thus, beginneth my journey of a thousand miles.
I’ll use this platform to connect with like-minded people, with students, with new mothers and I’ll be sharing my experiences, while at the same time, looking forward to hearing your fun-fulfilled journey of life!
